Destination Spotlight: The Alchemist’s Kitchen

In the heart of Nolita is one of our favorite New York gems: the Alchemist’s Kitchen. In fact, we love it so much it’s the starting point for all of our New York Beauty Walking Tours! We’ve always felt such a deep connection with this store, and are so thrilled to be able to partner with them for our beauty tours.

Opened in 2016, the Alchemist’s Kitchen has been at the forefront of the plant-based wellness movement for over three years. Based around a staff of trained herbalists, Alchemist’s Kitchen advocates for beauty, wellness, and healing from the inside out. A self-described “gateway to conscious living,” they’re really working hard to change the game by offering education and assistance to better inform your choices. When you walk down a supplements aisle in most stores, there’s not much to go on except the details on the bottle, and chances are even in organic and natural stores the sales staff aren’t trained herbal experts. At the Alchemist’s Kitchen, it’s different. If there’s any kind of wellness treatment or herbal supplement you want a knowledgeable opinion about, they’re right there to help.

In fact, there’s no better example of the Alchemist Kitchen’s wellness trailblazing than with CBD oil. With the legalization of marijuana advancing and with the popularity of CBD oil exploding, there’s been a flood of information — and misinformation — available. Producing their own amazing CBD gel capsules, the Alchemist’s Kitchen is leading the charge to end misinformation about CBD, and hosts regular events at the NYC location to educate the public.

The Alchemist’s Kitchen is really an absolute must visit if you’re in New York and looking to learn more about plant alchemy. There’s so much more to explore and learn about inside this place, but here are five fast facts about what this wellness hotspot has to offer (including CBD oil!).

  1. Start your visit with a healing drink

Begin your wellness journey as soon as you walk into the Alchemist’s Kitchen with one of their healing elixirs. They serve everything from antioxidant packed matcha lattes, to inflammation reducing golden milk lattes, as well as unique concoctions like their “Beauty Elixir” or “Love Potion” (I had the Beauty Elixir and can vouch that it was delicious!). They also have light bites like avocado toast, in addition to coffee and tea if you’re keeping it simple. There’s no better way to begin your Alchemist’s Kitchen experience than with a tasty and healing drink!

  1. Browse a careful curation of products

Once inside the shop, you’ll find color and greenery draping the walls (it’s made for Instagramming!). You’ll also find a carefully chosen selection of natural and organic beauty and wellness products. From herbal tinctures and supplements to popular brands like Captain Blankenship and Four Sigmatic, everything they sell is selected to represent their philosophy of health through herbal remedies. They even have their own Plant Alchemy brand, where they showcase their amazing CBD oil (try their CBD gel capsules for maximum benefit!).

  1. Talk with a trained herbalist

Want to know more about Ashwagandha? Curious about Valerian? If you want to try an herbal remedy and the internet has you spinning your wheels, the Alchemist’s Kitchen is your solution. They have trained herbalists on staff who know their natural remedies inside and out, and will give you the personal advice you need. Especially with something like CBD oil, where there are so many misconceptions about its benefits and uses, trust the experts at the Alchemist’s Kitchen to steer you in the right direction.

  1. Sign up for a wellness workshop

The Alchemist’s Kitchen hosts regular workshops and talks on a bevy of wellness subjects. There are informational CBD talks, astrology and spiritual workshops, wellness Q&As, and health discussions ranging in topic from digestive health, stress management, sexual health, and much more. It’s a great resource if you’re looking to learn more about a wellness topic with experts who will be able to give you more personal recommendations than the internet.

Trained herbalists are always on hand to help you out!

  1. Stay for one of their cutting-edge spa therapies

For the latest in spa and wellness treatments, check out the Alchemist’s Kitchen’s downstairs treatment area. This treatment floor, called the Kollectiv, offers traditional spa services in addition to more buzz-worthy treatments like cryotherapy, crystal healing, infrared saunas, and much more! It’s a space that’s both futuristic and traditionally healing, and the technicians are knowledgeable and enthusiastic about their wellness offerings.
