Water Break! AIRPORT HYDRATION 911

As the jet-setter you are, you know the drill when it comes to traveling overseas: Arriving at your final destination with dull, dry skin, is almost as inevitable as painstakingly waiting in those daunting airport security lines. Skin tighter than ever, it almost pains you to smile at the captain and flight attendants as you depart the aircraft and you’ll even go so far as to rub lip balm on your face for a hint of sheen. If you’re traveling to the Middle East in the near future, we’ve got good news. The Doha, Qatar airport (DOH) is home to some of the most hydrating mists, micellar waters, and toners out there to quench your skin’s thirst before even heading to baggage claim. Here, five of our faves.

Uriage Depiderm White Lightening Thermal Toner

No, it’s not a mirage. DOH’s pharmacy is full of water-based products that are just what you need to rid yourself of that prune-like feeling, courtesy of your hours-long flight. Take this one for example; from a brand that features thermal water native to the French Alps as the key ingredient in each of its products, this refreshing spray is naturally full of mineral salts that help nourish dehydrated skin. It’s also enriched with vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and more, to fade hyperpigmentation, brighten your complexion, and offer an even skin tone overall. A few spritzes before a light moisturizer is all you need for a good glow.

Caudalíe Paris Beauty Elixir

Not only can a long flight zap the moisture out of your skin, it can lower your energy too. If you’re feeling groggy, opt for this invigorating mist laced with rosemary and peppermint oils that will awaken your skin and senses in four clockwise spritzes. Grape extract also offers a burst of antioxidants while essential oils help hydrate and soothe dry, irritated skin.

SVR Rubialine Micellar Solution

If you suffer from rosacea or even mild redness, this might be the perfect fix. Apply a few drops onto a cotton ball and sweep it across your skin for a soothing cleanse. It’s fragrance and paraben-free and infused with castor oil—perfect for sensitive skin types.

Arabica Food and Spice Rosewater

Though the purpose of this one is technically to add a light flavor and aroma to foods and beverages, rosewater has been used as a skin care ingredient for centuries. Created with steam-distilled Damask rose petals, it contains skin-softening antioxidants and emits a scent that you’ll want to bathe in.

Bioderma Sensibio H2O

If you haven’t heard of Bioderma before, the brand has become a cult-favorite for its micellar waters amongst consumers and dermatologists all over the world. Made in France, every French woman has a bottle on her vanity, and while the waters are hard to purchase here in the U.S., one is sold every five seconds overseas. That said, if you’re lucky enough to find a bottle while in DOH, grab one (or two)! Gentle ingredients cleanse the skin without stripping it of its natural oils and fatty acids help enrich your skin and prevent redness and irritation.

Huge fan of Bioderma, got hooked when I saw it was available in Marrakech. Super smart of DOH to make hydrating products easily available for tired travelers!
